@sarah_yee_art
Sarah is an artist who spent most of her life in Sydney dreaming of living closer to nature, so she happily relocated to the Shoalhaven with her family in 2020. She is inspired by her surrounding landscapes, in particular the beautiful bodies of water in the Jervis Bay area. She is often found painting en plein air at a beach with her children in accompaniment. She primarily uses watercolour and gouache on paper or wooden board, and sometime acrylic on canvas when she is working in her studio. Her work tends to be vibrant and joyful, as though you are viewing the landscape on a sunny day with polarising glasses on. Sarah has a background in landscape photography so she enjoys taking her own reference photos.
Sarah also works as a registered nurse, which has given to her a gratitude of the human figure- mostly shown through her studies of hands. She loves to dedicate time to painting her children’s hands portraying their age and wonder of life. Hands can be a wonderful snapshot of a persons age and development.
Murals are another way that Sarah enjoys expressing herself and love of colour. She is able to paint both indoor and outdoor murals that feature botanical and wildlife elements. Sarah is a big fan of bring colour and light into your home and life in as many ways possible.
Sarah welcomes commissions.
