James Wei is a contemporary artist whose work draws deeply from the beauty and complexity of nature. Inspired by organic forms and the ever-changing landscape, he uses a variety of materials to achieve multi-dimensional and tactile surfaces, particularly by exploiting the unique texture and reflective properties of metal surfaces. The use of this textured effect of metal adds a transformative element to each work, causing the color and form to subtly change depending on the viewer’s perspective and the light.
